Celebrate 2026 National Travel & Tourism Week with Visit Colorado Springs
From May 3-9, learn about tourism’s impact on our economy and community
Colorado Springs, Colo. – April 30, 2026 – This Sunday, May 3, Visit Colorado Springs is joining the U.S. Travel Association and Colorado Tourism Office in kicking off National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW).
This year’s NTTW theme is “Postmarked: Essential” – designed to tell the story of how travel is fundamental to the U.S. economy.
“Tourism creates more than 40,000 jobs in the Pikes Peak Region,” said Alexea Veneracion, Director of Communications at Visit COS. “Our visitors contribute dollars through both the lodging and sales taxes, helping fuel why we have nice things and improve quality of life for our residents.”
This event also falls on the same week as Pikes Peak Small Business Week, so Visit COS is collaborating with the City of Colorado Springs to highlight the impact visitors have on supporting small businesses throughout the region.
VisitCOS.com can act as a resource for both visitors and locals to inspire a unique and off-the-beaten-path trip to the Pikes Peak Region. By using our AI chat bot “Penny the Pika,” visitors can ask specific questions regarding attractions, resources and more. For those looking to branch outside of Downtown Colorado Springs, the Neighborhoods & Areas Hub can act as a gateway to other parts of the region – encouraging longer stays and wider exploration.
