This FREE family fun event will feature interactive activities for attendees of all ages. Demonstrations, educational booths, crafts, and live animal experiences are among the offerings slated for the day. The annual event aims to celebrate Earth Day by providing free family fun and education about the environment through green thinking and living.

Enjoy a full day of activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation and appreciation for the natural world. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in nature tours led by knowledgeable guides from Nature’s Educators, interact with live animals and learn wildfire prevention and forest conservation from the iconic Smokey Bear.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but only service dogs are allowed in the theater due to the other animals that will be in there.

Here in Colorado Springs, we love our trails and open spaces. Love them extra by bringing a trash bag with you on your adventures. Pick up trash along your hikes to help preserve our amazing spaces and make a big difference in our community!

Focus on the Forest (FoF) and Great Outdoors Adventures (GOA) are teaming up to launch an exclusive Earth Day appreciation clean-up in Pike National Forest. Come together on Earth Day, April 22nd, for a 3-hour warm and fuzzy experience from late noon to early sunset.
We invite our surrounding community to ride in a Polaris UTV or a Jeep Gladiator to safely remove trash from our beautiful National Forest. Then wrap up with a cheesy delight provided by the 2024 Best of Teller Food Truck, Grilled Cheese. This celebration is for all ages and abilities. Space is limited.

Steward our parks with a restoration crew through the Great American Cleanup. This community-wide effort cleans parks, trails, creeks and roadways. Restoration work continues at Bear Creek through fire mitigation and removal of debris from the creek.

The fourth annual Three Parks. Three Days is a clean-up event organized by the Friends of Peregrine Parks & Open Spaces, Guardians of Palmer Park and the Friends of Ute Valley Park. This year, volunteers will help remove invasive plants, restore trails, reseed and help clean up trash in Blodgett Open Space, Palmer Park and Ute Valley Park. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Volunteers should wear sturdy outdoor clothes, including durable shoes or boots, eye protection and work gloves.

On Poor Richard's back patio, we will be welcoming guest facilitator Maggie Gaddis, director of the Colorado Native Plant Society, to guide us in a native seed bomb-making workshop. In the second half of the workshop, we will walk down to the creek to spread some seeds!
Pizza and a drink from the restaurant will be provided afterward. The cap for this event is 40 people.

The City Nature Challenge is a world-wide event where cities compete to see who can log the most flora/fauna/fungi entries into a science-based app called, “iNaturalist.”

Join the Fountain Creek Watershed District for the 2025 Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup event. Volunteers can register for a cleanup event at more than 20 sites throughout the Pikes Peak region, including several City trails and parks. Trash bags and safety vests will be provided at each site, but participants should plan ahead by wearing durable shoes or boots and work gloves. Participants under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult. Register here.
