Whether you want to volunteer, get out of your comfort zone or support local efforts, check out these Earth Day events around the Pikes Peak Region this April.
April 18, 2026
This FREE family fun event will feature interactive activities for attendees of all ages. Demonstrations, educational booths, crafts and live animal experiences are among the offerings slated for the day. The annual event aims to celebrate Earth Day by providing free family fun and education about the environment through green thinking and living.

April 25, 2026
Enjoy a full day of activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation and appreciation for the natural world. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in nature tours led by knowledgeable guides from Nature’s Educators, interact with live animals and learn wildfire prevention and forest conservation from the iconic Smokey Bear.
Educational Programs: Theater Talks available at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Programs will be held in the Plaza Theater between scheduled documentary showings.
Guided Nature Walks: These 30-minute tours will depart from Incline Park and end at Elk Park at 11:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm.

Join Great Outdoors Adventures and Apex Teller Waste for an exclusive Earth Day cleanup in the Pike National Forest. On Wednesday, April 22, we're heading out to preserve our local trails. This is a rewarding "feel-good" experience designed to bring the community together for a meaningful cause. Hop into a Polaris UTV or Jeep Gladiator to safely remove trash from the forest, then join us for a post-ride celebration with food and refreshments. Community service is a wonderful way to celebrate our beautiful planet and enjoy the impact we've made together. Space is limited, so register today!

We’re throwing a birthday party for Grandfather Cottonwood to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day this spring! After a short presentation, participants will help remove trash and invasive plant species from areas along the nature trail. Later, we’ll meet under the branches of Grandfather Cottonwood for a sweet treat and pollinator-friendly craft. Best for ages 8+.

April 24 — 26, 2026
The fifth annual Three Days, Three Parks is a clean-up event organized by the Friends of Peregrine Parks & Open Spaces, Guardians of Palmer Park and the Friends of Ute Valley Park. This year, volunteers will help remove invasive plants, restore trails, reseed and help clean up trash in Blodgett Open Space, Palmer Park and Ute Valley Park. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Volunteers should wear sturdy outdoor clothes, including durable shoes or boots, eye protection and work gloves. Sign up here.

Join Fountain Creek Watershed District for the 2026 Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup event. Volunteers can register for a cleanup event at more than 20 sites throughout the Pikes Peak Region, including several City trails and parks. Trash bags and safety vests will be provided at each site, but participants should plan ahead by wearing durable shoes or boots and work gloves. Participants under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.
