The Catalyst Fund, KRCC- and Concrete Couch invites everyone to join us in celebrating the 2025 recipients of Colorado College’s Honorary Doctorates.
This festive gathering will feature:
The celebration honors three distinguished individuals whose work exemplifies service, creativity, and community impact:and
Steve Wood '84 – A longtime community builder and artist in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs, Steve co-founded Concrete Couch in 2003, a nonprofit dedicated to “creative community building.” His work with youth, art, and education has spanned decades, engaging students, faculty, and alumni from Colorado College and reaching thousands through inclusive, hands-on programming.
Jeff Bieri – A cornerstone of public radio in Colorado, Jeff served for 35 years at KRCC-FM and Colorado Public Radio. From hosting NPR news shows to launching beloved programs like Blues Under the Bridge and co-founding MeadowGrass Music Festival, Jeff’s influence on Colorado Springs’ cultural landscape is profound and enduring.
Ben Sturgulewski '08 – An award-winning filmmaker originally from Alaska, “Sturge” has traveled the globe crafting celebrated films for YETI, Red Bull, Patagonia, and others. His acclaimed ski film Valhalla was recently named The Greatest Ski Film of All Time by Outside Magazine. When not filming, Ben splits time between Anchorage and Boulder.
INDOCTORINATION is free and open to the public. All are welcome to stop by, explore the park, celebrate these honorees, and connect with the community in classic Couch fashion.
