The 31st Annual Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival, November 9 to 11, is the longest running women’s film festival in North America. The festival showcases documentary, narrative shorts, and animated films that are thought-provoking and enriching, and that encourage global awareness and personal growth all shared through a female lens.
The Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival honors films and filmmakers that present the world as women experience it and that inspire curiosity, educate, entertain, and stimulate conversation.
Films will be screened throughout the weekend at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (FAC), Kathryn Mohrman Theatre at Armstrong Hall, Cornerstone’s Richard F. Celeste Theater, and in Cornerstone's more intimate Film Screening Room.
Launching into a new decade of the Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival, the festival will be celebrating the opening night in a new location, at the Cornerstone Arts Center at Colorado College. The Gala will include what you've come to expect: a party filled with delicious hors-d'oeuvres, plus wine and beer before the screening of the opening night film. Watch out, the festival may have some tricks up its sleeve and some surprises this year! Gala event starts at 6 p.m. and the film begins at 7:15 p.m.
The festival is fortunate each year to host 10-12 of the featured filmmakers. Be sure to take advantage of these opportunities by attending the Filmmaker's Forums or attending their films for a Q&A session after the film.
