Pikes Peak Philharmonic Presents “Animal Instincts”

Continuing our season’s theme of “Animal Instincts,” we’ll feature Rossini’s “La Gazza Ladra,” Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf,” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee” for your listening pleasure.

In addition, we’ll perform Carl Nielsen’s "Symphony #2: The Four Temperaments." Each movement of this symphony is associated with one of four classic personality types.

Unfamiliar with Nielsen’s work? No worries, we’ve got you covered. We’ll help you figure out which of the four is a good fit for you!

To increase your appreciation of this program, a pre-concert lecture by the conductor will begin at 2:15 p.m.

The Pikes Peak Philharmonic has been performing great music in Colorado Springs for more than 50 years.

We are a community orchestra made up of people like you, whose love of music brings us together to create a collage greater than the sum of its parts.

We offer a low-cost entry into symphonic music and an adventurous listening experience.
