‘How I Became a Pirate’

Sail off on a swashbuckling musical excursion! When a real live pirate ship interrupts a day at the beach, young Jeremy Jacobs joins Captain Braid Beard's band of musical buccaneers and searches for the perfect spot to bury their treasure.

Jeremy finds fun and adventure on the high seas, but he soon learns that home and family are treasures you can't find on any map!

A delightful literacy-based play to reinforce a love of reading and the real treasures in life will have young mateys (and their parents) yo-ho-hoing with delight!

Recognized by Time Magazine as one of the top five children's theater companies in the U.S., and the only one of that group to tour nationally, Dallas Children’s Theater travels coast to coast with professional large-scale productions designed to stir the heart, stretch the mind and promote education. Dallas Children's Theater has been designated an American Masterpieces Touring Artist by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Kids may wear their jammies or their favorite pirate gear! Wheelchair seating is accessible and there will be a sign language interpreter by sign language network.

Book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt & Mark Friedman, based on the book by Melinda Long, illustrations by David Shannon.
