For their first virtual experience, The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is presenting their Children's History Hour all about their exhibit, The Story of Us: The Pikes Peak Region from A – Z. This exhibit allows users to explore the history and geography of the area using 21st Century technology. Open a letter from A – Z and learn about the people, places and events that make our region unique. Navigate dynamic maps that allow you to go back in time to understand how neighborhoods, businesses, climate and transportation have shaped our community. Where do you fit in? Come and discover your place in local history.
The CSPM's Children’s History Hour's continue and will take place on June 17 and 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is called Collecting Counts!
What does it mean to be remarkably you? We will learn the stories of unique people who believed in themselves and helped shape our community. We’ll read “Remarkably You” by Pat Zietlow Miller and make creative self-portraits that show how special we all are!
Children ages 3-6 and their favorite adult are invited to explore regional history through story time, a family-friendly activity, and craft.
Supplies Needed: We are making self portraits! Use whatever materials you have around the house. You can draw, color, collage, craft with clay, and more! Create a self-portrait that shows how remarkable you truly are.
