The Chamber Orchestra has joined with orchestras across the country to commission a new Bluegrass Concerto from one of America’s most prominent composers, Michael Torke, for the incandescent violinist Tessa Lark.
In addition to diverse music from Mendelssohn, Mozart and a newcomer to the Chamber Orchestra, Jessie Montgomery, the orchestra presents another world premiere featuring Susan Grace and Glen Whitehead--a brand new concerto for trumpet and piano by George Lewis.
