Did you know: Colorado Springs is a "Tree City USA" for 40 consecutive years? Longest running in the state! General Palmer had 600 cottonwood trees planted when water was available from city reservoirs in 1872. In 1910 City Council created a Department of Forestry, a tree ordinance and a city forester position. When many of the cottonwoods did not survive they were replaced with maple, ash and elm trees.
Volunteer and Docent inquiries encouraged!

Spring Canon Clean-Up
In conjunction with Earth Day and the Great American Clean Up, join us for our Spring Cañon Clean-up. This will be a trail clean up day – we’ll be cleaning up trash around the park. This event is great for the whole family (those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
Be prepared to spend a few hours outdoors! Be sure to wear sturdy shoes suitable for walking on trails as well as a pair of gloves for picking up trash. Water will be provided, however we prefer if volunteers bring their own in reusable bottles. Thank you so much! Lunch will be provided!
Please let us know you’re coming so we can plan accordingly. Sign up online.
