“Save the Date” for the 2019 Artini, the official community kickoff to this year’s Arts Month campaign, which will be held on Friday, September 27th from 5:30-8:30PM at The Mining Exchange Hotel (and the adjacent Gold Room) in downtown Colorado Springs. Hosted annually by the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, the Artini is a FREE, community celebration with live entertainment on multiple stages, lots of mixing & mingling, and the opportunity to sample signature martinis created by some of the area’s top mixologists. Art + Martini = Artini!
The Cultural Office is excited to announce that BJ Estares & Route 61 will be the headlining musical act at the 2019 Artini! BJ Estares and Route 61 are a local band that has been entertaining fans with blues, classic rock and original music in the Pikes Peak Region since 2005, and they have worked consistently as a house band at Bronco Billy’s Casino in Cripple Creek for the last five years. During the Artini, BJ and his band will play three sets in the Gold Room from 5:30-8:30PM.
In addition, the 2019 Artini will feature a variety of other live performances, a DJ with dancing, a fashion show, aerialists, body painting, food trucks, a Photo Booth station, hands-on art activities, and more! Throughout the evening, local mixologists from the 365 Grand Club properties will be creating their signature martini drinks, and competing to earn the title of “Best Artini Martini 2019.” Free tastings will be available, and voting by Artini attendees will determine this year’s winner. Multiple cash bars will be open throughout the hotel, and food will be available for purchase from the hotel and/or from a group of food trucks parked along Nevada Avenue.
A reminder that all attendees at the Artini must be 21 or older,
and photo IDs will be required to enter the event.
NEW THIS YEAR: At 9:30PM, after the Artini ends, stick around the Gold Room for TerryJosiah presents "The Urban Classic: A Community Jam." This community jam session will unite classically trained musicians with urban artists for an improv showcase. Local musicians are invited to bring their instruments. There will be 3 Features: JJ Sharpe (with Chocuba), CC & the Silhouettes, and Cypher Saturday’s.
The 2019 Artini would not be possible without the generous support of The Mining Exchange Hotel, the City of Colorado Springs Lodgers and Auto Rental Tax (LART), HEX Audio Visual, Wells Fargo, the Tiemens Foundation, and the Colorado Springs Independent.
The Artini is hosted by the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is “connecting residents and visitors with arts & culture to enrich the Pikes Peak region.” Each October, the Cultural Office presents Arts Month as a way to elevate the visibility and value of arts & culture in our community. The official call to action during Arts Month is to have at least one new cultural experience with family or friends during the month of October.
