July Roundup: 9 Not-to-Miss Events

The Pikes Peak region is gearing up this summer with nine spectacular events that the whole family will enjoy. From fireworks to rodeos, mark your calendars for a spectacular July.

Mineral Springs Tour – Saturdays through July – Sip and stroll through Manitou Springs and “take the cure” from their purified bubbling spring water believed by early settlers and Indian Americans to have medicinal qualities. This fun and educational tour lets you take a step back in time and learn about the history of Manitou Springs and their world-renowned aquifers.

Symphony Above the Clouds – Thursday, July 5, 2018 – Know any aspiring virtuosos? Take them to the 38th annual Symphony Above the Clouds. With headliner Colorado Springs Philharmonic and pieces ranging from modern to classical, this is a show your music lover shouldn’t miss.

Art on the Streets – Friday, July 6, 2018 – Come downtown the first Friday of July for Art on the Streets to view downtown’s latest arts installations. With a collection chosen from artists worldwide, Art on The Streets is guaranteed to inspire with genres ranging from abstract to realism.

Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo – July 11 – 14, 2018 – Let your inner cowpolk out this July at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. With four championship rodeo performances and a grand finale shoot out on Saturday night. Cheer on steer wrestling, team roping and bull riding and attend family-friendly activities before the main event.

Park after Dark – Saturday, July 14, 2018 – Check out The Record Company and supporting artist The New Respects at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. Enjoy outdoor lawn seating and magnificent views of the Colorado Rockies.

El Paso County Fair – July 14 – 21, 2018 – A good ole’ time is waiting for you at the 112th annual El Paso County Fair. Every day feels like a first with different events and activities. This year be sure to watch the NSPA Truck & Tractor Pull, Ranch Rodeo, Texas Hold ‘Em, Auto Race and Demolition Derby.

ROAR in the City – Saturday, July 21, 2018 – Experience downtown Colorado Springs like never before! This July take to the streets with your family or compete on a team in ROAR in the City, an epic race full of physical and mental activities sure to challenge your senses.

Cost: $50 per person 

Tails, Tunes & Tastes – July 26, 2018 – Dance (or eat) the night away at the zoo’s after hours, 21+ event. From live music to hanging out with zoo residents this zoo fundraiser is the purrfect evening out.

Colorado Grown Festival – Saturday, July 28, 2018 – From food trucks to live music celebrate Colorado’s 141st birthday through local history at the Pioneers Museum.
