Spring break is the perfect time to take that family road trip. Whether it's a full week of fun at camps offered by America's only mountain zoo, a mine-craft themed excursion or a cycling experience to enjoy the beauty of Colorado Springs and the surrounding region, there are plenty of ways to learn a thing or two during a spring break in Colorado; even when school isn't in session.
The Western Museum of Mining & Industry and Bricks-4-Kidz has partnered to offer a unique, fun and educational spring break camp for children in grades K-5th! The concept is based around the game Minecraft and building shelters. More details can be found here.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is hosting (2) full week camps, the Zoolympics - Ages 5-7 and Junior Veterinarian program for ages 8-10. Each day will include time inside and outside as well as up-close and personal time with some Zoo animals. Participants may attend all five days or any number of days through the week. Spring Break Bike Camp at America the Beautiful Park. This fun and safety focused urban trail riding camp offers kids the opportunity to explore local trails that connect our city. Base camp will start at America the Beautiful Park, which allows connection by trail into Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, Monument Valley Park, Shooks Run and Rock Island Trail. Each day, participants will ride to a new location by utilizing bike trails and some neighborhood streets. More details can be found here.
The Harlem Globetrotters will be performing at the Colorado Springs World Arena on March 28. America's favorite family show is coming to Colorado Springs and taking fan participation to the extreme by letting fans decide which NEW Globetrotter rule they'll add to the game like 6 on 5 or the Trick Shot Challenge! Experience hours of fun for kids, grandparents and everyone in between.
Paint a different kind of spring break at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Sign up now for one of eight amazing art workshops, March 24-28, at The Fine Arts Center’s Bemis School of Art for ages 6 to 16. Younger kids can discover the crazy possibilities of working with acrylics, watercolors, pastels and Piñata, while older kids will learn how to turn old T-shirts into works of art, weave yarn, create anime and a lot more. Be one with the outdoors during Fountain CreekNature Center's Spring Break Nature Camp: Marsh Madness. Playtime in the woods, building forts, fishing, games, and making friends are portals to learning about nature and ourselves. Through a variety of daily topics, nature campers will discover the world around them and how to be stewards of the environment.
