Colorado's western mining heritage. Colorado's mining history comes to life at the museum that works featuring operating multi-ton steam engines, mining equipment, gold panning, live burros and nature explorations.
Description: GOLD! It's burned like a fever in the hearts of men and women everywhere it's been discovered. It drew thousands by boat, on foot, wagon, and horseback to the gold fields of the West where they hoped to make their fortune. Towns grew up overnight and new territories were explored and developed. The Western Museum of Mining and Industry preserves this rich history and brings it to life for you! Nestled along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in scenic Colorado Springs you will find the Western Museum of Mining and Industry.
The Museum is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to preserving the West's mining heritage.
