This October, Colorado Springs will celebrate its first Arts Month hosted by COPPeR, the Cultural Office of the Pike Peak Region. This initiative, also celebrated nationally,  helps connect both residents and visitors with the arts and culture in the area.

October marks national Arts Month both nationally and locally. The goal is to encourage Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives. In Colorado Springs alone, the arts annually generates an economic impact of $72M annually, employ 2,200 people and draw an attendance of 1.3M. That means it is big business!

Guest Post from Serenity Springs Wildlife Center

One of the most exciting residents at Serenity Springs is Selbit, the Amur Leopard. Selbit came to us from a trainer in Las Vegas who had to downsize due to the lagging economy.

Peak wildflower season can vary in Colorado Springs.  Between May and late June is usually the best time.
