Partnering with The Resource Exchange and Empty Stocking Fund this fun morning will include activities appropriate for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Santa at the North Pole - Santa's Workshop

Make the trip to Santa's Workshop, a Christmas-themed family amusement park. Meet Santa and ride on more than two dozen kid-friendly rides. Santa is in his house when the park is open, although he does take a lunch break around 12:30 for 30 minutes.

Pikes Peak Cog Railway Santa Claus Train

Come enjoy a whole new experience with Santa Claus and his elves as you take the Cog Railway to the North Pole at 4-Mile Siding. This 2-hour round trip will not take you to the top of Pikes Peak, but will take you halfway up the mountain. You'll get to ride with Santa or Mrs. Claus and some of their elves. Make sure to dress warmly. You'll have one hour to get off the train, take pictures with Santa Claus, interact with the elves and enjoy some hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. On the way back down, sing some well-known Christmas carols with Santa and the gang. When you return, children will be given a small gift bag from Santa.

Royal Gorge Route Railroad Santa Express Train

Ride the Santa Express train to the North Pole where Santa hops on board the train!  All of the children receive a special gift from Santa. Enjoy Christmas music, entertainment from elves and the breathtaking views of the Royal Gorge.

Visit Santa at Dinosaur Resource Center

Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for a fun-filled afternoon. Meet Santa and let him know your Christmas wishes, then join Mrs. Claus for a show with stories and songs. End your Christmas adventure by making a colorful Elf ornament to take home.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Electric Safari

Take in nearly one million lights and see Santa at America's only mountain zoo. Select animal exhibits are open during Electric Safari. Santa's visits are through December 23. Check the website for details.

Winter Lights at The Broadmoor Seven Falls

In 1947, a tradition began at Seven Falls to promote the canyon at night when alternating colored and white lights illuminated the waters, much to the delight of locals and visitors worldwide.  On Saturday, November 19, the much-loved, multi-colored display returns for the holiday season as Seven Falls celebrates the second annual Winter Lights event.  More than 100,000 individual lights will line the path leading to the Falls, and this year, colored lights will also adorn the cliff faces of the Pillars of Hercules, making for not only a festive atmosphere, but a photographer’s dream locale for holiday family photos.

EVENTS BEGIN AT 12PM AND HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

  • Elf Scavenger Hunt with candy and prizes for children from 12PM – 5PM
  • Letter to Santa at the Falls Pavilion from 12PM – 6PM
  • Carolers in the Canyon 3PM – 5PM
